Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs your use of the SiteDocket service, operated by SiteDocket LLC, and forms part of our Terms of Service. Because SiteDocket includes tools that inspect, crawl, and scan websites, responsible and authorized use is essential.

1. Authorization Is Required

You may only audit, crawl, scan, monitor, or test a website or web property that you own, or that you have explicit, current permission from the owner (or a person authorized to act for the owner) to test. You are solely responsible for confirming you have this authorization before running any audit, crawl, security check, or monitoring against a site, and for staying within the scope of what you were authorized to do.

What counts as authorization. Acceptable authorization is verifiable permission from the site owner or an authorized representative — for example: you own or operate the domain and its hosting account; you manage the site under a written client agreement, statement of work, or engagement letter; you have documented written permission (such as an email) from the owner; or you are testing a staging, demo, or test environment that you control. Verifying ownership of a domain within your account (where offered), or connecting an account you control (such as Google Search Console), can help establish authorization, but it does not by itself grant you permission to test any other property.

You must be able to demonstrate authorization. If we ask, you must be able to promptly provide reasonable evidence that you were authorized to test a given site. Authorization must remain current: if the owner withdraws permission, or your engagement or relationship ends, you must stop auditing, crawling, and monitoring that site. Guessed, assumed, or “implied” permission is not sufficient, and the fact that a website is public or reachable does not, by itself, make it a site you are authorized to test.

2. Prohibited Activities

You must not use the Service, or attempt or permit anyone else to use the Service, to:

• Audit, scan, probe, crawl, or monitor any website, application, or system without current authorization from its owner, or beyond the scope of the authorization you were given.
• Misrepresent your identity, ownership, or authorization, or provide false or misleading information when verifying a domain, connecting an account, or confirming permission to test.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to, disrupt, degrade, or interfere with any website, network, account, or system.
• Conduct denial-of-service activity, or generate request volumes, crawl depths, or scan intensities that could overload, harm, or disrupt a target site or its hosting.
• Use the Service against critical infrastructure, government systems, or any third party’s property with which you have no ownership or authorized relationship.
• Use, exploit, weaponize, or disclose any vulnerability, credential, misconfiguration, or non-public information surfaced by an audit or scan for any purpose other than remediating a site you are authorized to test; findings must never be used to attack, exploit, or gain unauthorized access to any system.
• Circumvent, disable, or bypass security measures, access controls, robots directives, or other protections on a target site or system, except as the authorized owner permits.
• Violate any law or regulation, infringe the intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights of others, or unlawfully collect, scrape, or process personal data.
• Upload or transmit malware, or use the Service to develop, host, or deliver malicious code.
• Send spam or unsolicited communications, or use the Service to harass, defame, threaten, or harm others.
• Circumvent or exceed usage limits, quotas, rate limits, or access controls; create multiple or automated accounts to evade limits; or share, resell, or sublicense your access, credentials, or API keys except as your plan expressly permits.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or copy the Service, resell or republish its output as a standalone product, or use it to build or train a competing product or service.
• Use the Service to store, process, or transmit content that is unlawful, harmful, infringing, or that you are not permitted to handle.
• Use the Service in any way that could cause SiteDocket to breach a law or a third party’s terms, or that could damage the reputation, security, or operation of the Service or its other users.

3. Fair Use of Automated Tools

Crawling, scheduled audits, monitoring, and API usage are subject to your plan’s limits and to reasonable-use expectations. We may throttle, queue, or limit activity that threatens the stability, security, or performance of the Service or of third-party targets.

4. Accuracy of Audit and Scan Results

SiteDocket’s audits, crawls, scans, scores, checks, and recommendations are produced by automated tools and, in some cases, by third-party AI models. They are not guaranteed to be complete, correct, or accurate, and they are not 100% reliable. Results may include false positives (flagging issues that are not real) and false negatives (missing issues that are present), may be affected by how a target site responds at the time of the scan, and can change over time. A passing score or a “clean” result does not guarantee that a site is secure, compliant, error-free, or fully optimized, and a reported issue is not a guarantee that a problem definitely exists.

You are responsible for independently reviewing and verifying any result, score, vulnerability, or recommendation before relying on or acting on it, and the Service is not a substitute for professional security, legal, accessibility, or SEO advice. This section supplements, and does not limit, the disclaimers and limitation of liability in our Terms of Service.

5. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate access, remove content, or take other action we consider appropriate — including where required to protect the Service, our users, or third parties, or to comply with law. Serious violations may be reported to the relevant authorities.
